Note from Editor: Most have noticed that
we have published sporadically this year. I personally am
responsible for the infrequent updates due to some personal
problems that are sorting themselves out. Rest assured the
site is still alive and will come back stronger in 2007. We
have published uninterrupted for over 6 years now, and we
will be redesigning the site in 2007. We will be going completely
css to make the site load faster. The redesign will give us
greater control over our voluminous content. Ideas include
a blog page, an mp3/podcasts section and some other things.
The sheer size of the site and content have made any redesign
a somewhat a costly endeavor. I have not yet decided if we
have to cease publishing for a short period during the redesign.
We are doing what we can to avoid that. If an update is late,
unless you see a notice we are ceasing publication, assume
an update is forthcoming.
We publish Fufkin for the same reason today
as the day we started in 1998: merely because we want to give
a voice to good music writers and give a media outlet to many
who, despite making great music, would have no publicity at
all but for Fufkin. Hopefully, you will continue to find it
worth it to visit us in 2007 and stick with us as we have
been going through a period of change. All the best to all
of you in 2007.
David Fufkin

year, Michael adds a few songs. We at Fufkin wish to thank
Michael for such a great list and for the privilege of being
able to publish it every year. It is one of the most linked
pages on our website and has brought 10s of thousands of visitors
to Fufkin. This is the column from 2005.
Christmas Sounds:
Sixty-Plus Years Of Holiday Recordings
by Michael Lynch
One of the traditions of the Christmas season
for any music fan is hearing on the radio those classic holiday
recordings we only ever hear a few weeks out of the year.
Well, sure, you COULD play your copy of Bing Crosby's "White
Christmas" in June, but wouldn't you feel rather funny
about it?
Well, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one
who...
