How do I find reviews
of new releases, interviews and columns?
Your best bet is to merely scroll down on the index/splash/first
page of the site (the page you see when you first get to the
site), scroll down and the most recent reviews, interviews
and columns are listed right there. Click on the review, interview
or column you are looking for. Once you get to that page,
if it's a review, either the review is the first one or it
is on the page below if you scroll down. Read the line in
small print that says says: Scroll down for
reviews of the latest from... Scroll down
and you likely will find the review. If it's an interview
or column, it should be right there. If you are still having
problems, feel free to e-mail us.
How do I find reviews
of older releases, interviews and columns?
If it's an older release, your best bet is to click on music
reviews, interviews and columns on the left side navigation
bars and search by alphabetical order of artist or column
name. Once you get to the alphabetical listing, scroll down
until you find the review, interview or column you are looking
for and click on the review, interview or column. Once you
get to that page, if it's a review, either the review is the
first one or it is on the page below. Read the line in small
print that says: Scroll down for reviews of
the latest from... Scroll down and you likely
will find the review. If it's
an interview or column, it should be right there.
You can also use the Search Box. If you are still having problems,
feel free to e-mail us.
How do I contact
Fufkin? Go to the ontact
us page by clicking on the left side navigation bar. There,
you will find e-mail addresses of all the writers and a post
office mailing address. Also, here you will find the submission
policy. Our
submission policy is that we will attempt to listen to everything
sent to us. We can never guarantee a review. If you are referred
by someone, please indicate. There is *no need* to
send an e-mail asking if we are interested. Actually, please
refrain from doing so. I'll just send the address listed at
the contact us page which is Fufkin.com, P.O Box 7420, Ft.
Lauderdale, FL 33338-7420. If you are a publicist, please
send an e-mail describing your artists. We have a relationship
with some quality publicity firms, and we have found that
some of our best music and content comes from those relationships.
We get 1000s of hits a day from around the world and can help
you. Consider adding us to your promo list. If you have any
questions, please contact us. For the indie artists, we know
it is expensive to send CD-Rs, but we just get too much music
to do anything other than to consider CD-Rs or manufactured
CDs. As such, we don't review mp3s and we don't visit websites
to download mp3s.
Where
do I find these amazing recommended releases? Well,
anything that is independent pop and rock we would suggest
the online retailers notlame.com,
parasol.com, milesofmusic.com,
bomp.com, the artists directly
or your quality neighborhood independent music retailer. For
other categories, we suggest independent music stores only,
no chains. Eventually, we want to publish a list of the best
indie music retailers in the US and world. Some off the top
of my head are Amoeba in Los Angeles and Berkeley, California,
New World Record in Buffalo, New York and scores of others.
Please e-mail us with names, addresses and phone numbers of
your favorite retailers from around the world. It will become
a part of our Recommendations page. Remember that major retailers
like Best Buy and major chains are attempting in a real manner
to force indie online and brick and mortar shops out of business.
Saving a dollar by buying at Best Buy may cause the extinction
of being able to find the music we love. I for one don't want
to pay hundreds of dollars for a rare CD from some guy on
eBay in 20 years. Our indie online and brick and mortar retailers
need our support. If any of our online retailers can't help
you, e-mail us. We know a lot of very knowledgable people
who either own or can find anything. We are glad to
help as a public service. This whole site is a public service
really.
I
bought a CD from a guy in Helsinki in the Classified Forum.
He never sent it. What do I do? I can't answer
that. Fufkin.com can't be responsible for any transactions
on the boards. We just want to have a place for people to
get together and get along. Common sense is merely to be careful
and have fun.
I
met a guy in the Classified Forum. He seemed nice, I gave
him my e-mail and IM addresses and then he started stalking
me online. What do I do?
Again,
we don't have any control over who visits us and Fufkin.com
cannot be responsible for anyone or anything that happens
as a result of anyone you meet or have contact with through
this site. We guard everyone's privacy. We never share any
info at any time for any reason. The only way to guard against
problems is to never give out your e-mail, postal address
or phone number until you are absolutely sure that you want
to do that. Never meet someone in a private place. Bring a
female friend. Bring a large male friend. Your Mom. Just don't
go alone. You get it. There are many suggestions on the internet
for how to guard yourself and still meet nice people online
and there is not enough space to list it here. Just be careful
and have fun. I have met so many wonderful people from around
the world because of Fufkin. There is no reason why all of
you can't be friends.
