About Jason Thompson

A native of the general area of Tennessee known as Knoxville, Jason quickly became obsessed with music as a toddler thanks to his parents and older siblings. He has vivid recollections of grooving to The Beatles' White Album with his sister, and enjoying both the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack and The Stranger by Billy Joel thanks to his brother. By the time he was five years old, Jason got to experience a musical chunk of the 1970s through his excursions into his siblings' music collections that he still cherishes to this day. While his peers were off enjoying the "talents" of Poison and Motley Crue during his middle school tenure, Jason was drowning himself in The Beatles and pretty much all of the 1960s.

In high school, he founded a trashy local punk band called The Penguin Project who released more than thirty homemade tapes and won no following at all. Ironically, a few of that band's old tunes topped the punk/lo-fi charts nine years later on a lowly online music site when Jason released them to the world for a short time in 1999.

A fan of pop culture, useless trivia, and honest mayhem, Jason continues to write for the online music community as well as create catchy pop tunes for anyone who wants to listen.
