George Harrison Memorial Issue
Well, it's the holidays and end of the year and I don't want
to wait until the end of the column to say thank you to all
of the visitors and contributors to Fufkin.com. My sincere
best wishes to all of you on the holidays.
The
site has grown and it is something I never thought it could
be in depth and scope. I am proud to give a platform to talented,
committed writers who understand their subject. Like I said
to a friend recently, the only thing that I do as editor is
let the writers write so that the reader is inspired to do
something in response.
I
am equally proud to serve you, the diverse, knowledgable person
that visits the site. It's all about breaking through to you,
the Fufkin reader, so that you can agree, disagree and ultimately
drive the music marketplace in some small way. It is only
through that communication that good music and the people
who make it will thrive.
I
hope you enjoy our George Harrison memorial issue. When he
passed, I resisted the reaction to rush an update out to commemorate
the event. Everyone who has ever visited Fufkin knows what
a profound influence George has made on us, so I gave the
writers some time to come up with their pespectives. I will
not give my comments only because so many have given their
thoughtul perspective on the site this month. I will defer
to them. I will say that George was as important of an artist
to me that has lived in my lifetime. He and his work were
a gift to me and the world and he will be sorely missed.
Happy
Holidays and see you next year.
