where you can gather to discuss all that is
60's mod, r & b and most to do with Brit Pop
(above picture, The Creation).

The Garage Enter Chat

where we have a place for garage and psychedelic
devotees to discuss their favorite garage bands
like the 13th Floor Elevators, The Standells or
modernday greats like the Chesterfield Kings, Cynics
or Resonars (above picture, The Standells).

And last but not least, we have

Old Nashville Enter Chat

where you can gather to discuss AAA, No
Depression, Alt Country and Americana artists from
Hank Williams, Sr. to the Old 97's to The Handsome
Family (see above picture).

Instructions

Fufkin Chat is simple. The software is unique in
that it is supported by almost any browser. For
those used to certain Java-based chat interfaces,
this is a bit more basic, but my goal was to include as
many people as possible, even those without a
screaming Pentium III.

The next page you will see is the registration page.
Merely type in a handle (eg. Pop God) and enter a
password so that next time you visit, no one
has taken your name. Enter your e-mail address
ONLY if you want persons in the Chat Room to send
you e-mail. It is not required to input your e-mail
address to Enter Chat.

Suggestions

When you Enter Chat, always use frames
(if you can) so that the page reloads in real time similar
to certain Java-based Chat room. You can scroll down
the upper frame to access a variety of image files similar
to Smileys. They are ok, but my personal preference is
to move the bottom frame right up to the border of the
post button so that you have maximum room to view the
scrolling messages. If you are using Internet Explorer,
I suggest you open the window to view the Full Screen
by pointing your Mouse to View on the Toolbar and then
clicking on the Pull Down selection Full Screen. This gives
you even more room to view messages.

Organize your own chat

I encourage any of you to organize your own chat. Please
let us know so that we can post the date, time, location
and organizer of the Chat. Example: On July 15, 2000, Pop
God will be holding a chat in Brian's Sandbox regarding Mike
Love and his contribution or lack thereof to the success of
The Beach Boys. Please contact Pop God so that he can get
a head count of who will be dropping by Brian's Sandbox
on the 15th around 10:30 EST, 7:30 PST on the West Coast.
Always indicate as many time zones as you can out of
courtesy and respect for our friends around the world.
Remember, a 7:30 EST time chat cannot be attended by
anyone in Los Angeles with a 9-5 job (it is 4:30 pm there).

We at Fufkin.com have found that we have many knowledgable
visitors from the UK, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Japan,
Spain, France, Germany, The Netherlands and Australia.
Please include these times if you can. If you know of any
other visitors from other countries and would like to let them
know their time, please refer to the time zone page and
include that one as well. Or better yet use the Saturn V
time converter.
